European Cities Marketing

                                             ...a network full of inspiration

Who we are

European Cities Marketing provides a platform on a pan-European basis for cities to perform better in their convention and tourism activities through the exchange of knowledge and best practice within a city marketing framework.

You can find all the member cities and their websites by clicking on Members.

Our mission

ECM’s mission is to be the preferred instrument of Europe’s leading cities for the exchange - by their city tourist offices, convention bureaux, and city marketing organisations - of best practice and information within a city marketing framework.

Our core values

ECM’s core values are as follows:

Accountability – to each and every member, ensuring that he/she is connected, engaged, and informed, and that he/she receives a demonstrable return on the investment represented by the membership fee in terms of the ongoing development of his/her city tourist office, convention bureau or city marketing organisation as well as his/her own personal development

Co-operation, trust, andopenness – the manner in which best practice and information is exchanged as CTOs, CBs and CMOs balance their roles as competitors with the benefits of collaboration, through the giving and taking of advice, and the sharing of common experience

Relevant, predictive, pacesetting, and leading edge– the content of the inter-city benchmarking and forecasting and of the best practice and information exchanged, with the practical objective that members should ‘take away’ from every ECM meeting at least one idea or tool with which to improve future performance

Viability – trading solvently and securing the long term existence of the Association

Visibility, professionalism, credibility, and proactivity – how ECM communicates its brand, and how it seeks to be perceived in city tourism environments, in the media, and in all other relevant forums and contexts.

Our way of working

• Focus on member needs
• Develop the knowledge and expertise of individual members
• Creating business opportunities for members
• Increasing knowledge of city tourism among members
• Provide for an environment which is apolitical, cooperative, and non-confrontational
